Answer first: Have a Grok Bot routine run your saved marketplace searches a few times a day, drop junk listings, compare prices against a target or recent comparables, and post a shortlist. It never messages sellers or buys anything.
Test status: not tested against a live marketplace. Many marketplaces block automated reads or require a login, so results depend on the site. Routine scheduling comes from the official docs.
Who it's for
Resellers, collectors, and anyone hunting for a used item at the right price.
Steps
- Build your search on the marketplace site (filters, location, price ceiling) and copy the results URL.
- Write your junk filter: words like "for parts", "broken" or "box only", and the minimum seller info you need.
- Paste the prompt. A sensible schedule is 3 times a day (for example 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 7:00 PM).
Copy-paste prompt
Three times a day at 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, open these search pages: <URL1>, <URL2>.
Skip listings containing: <JUNK WORDS>. Skip anything already shown to me.
For each remaining listing under <TARGET PRICE>: title, price, location, link, and how it compares to the median of the listings you saw.
Post a shortlist of max 5. If a page is blocked or needs login, say so instead of guessing.
Never contact sellers or buy anything.
Expected result
Up to 5 new deals per run, or a note saying a page was blocked.
Gotchas
- Runs can be as close as 5 minutes apart, but every run uses usage. Three a day is usually enough for used goods.
- Login-only marketplaces are out of scope unless you choose to sign in on the box's browser yourself.
- Tell it to remember what it has already shown you, or you'll get the same listings again.
FAQ
Can it message the seller? Not in this recipe. Outgoing messages would need your approval anyway.
