Answer first: A Grok Bot routine reads your RSS feeds every morning, keeps the 3 items most relevant to your audience, and drafts a post or newsletter blurb for each in your voice, saved to a file and shown in chat. You edit, approve and publish. It never publishes on its own.

Test status: RSS reading tested on 2026-10-16. https://hnrss.org/frontpage returned a valid RSS feed with 20 items from the box. The routine and drafting steps were not run on a schedule.

Who it's for

Newsletter writers, social media managers and founders who curate industry news.

Steps

  1. Gather 3–10 RSS feed URLs. Most blogs have /feed or /rss, and hnrss.org offers Hacker News feeds.
  2. Paste 3 examples of your past posts so it can match your voice.
  3. Paste the prompt. Review content-queue.md and the chat summary each morning.

Copy-paste prompt

Every weekday at 7:00 AM, read these RSS feeds: <FEED1>, <FEED2>, <FEED3>.
Only items from the last 24h. Keep the 3 most relevant to <AUDIENCE> (skip press releases and duplicates).
For each: draft a <X post / LinkedIn post / newsletter blurb> under <N> words in my voice (examples: <PASTE 3>), with the source link.
Append to content-queue.md with date and status "draft". Post the 3 drafts here. Don't publish anything.

Expected result

Three drafts a day, saved to a queue file and shown in chat.

Gotchas

  • Some feeds only give a headline and summary. Ask it to open the article if it needs more context.
  • Always keep the source link and add your own take. Rewording others' work without credit hurts trust.
  • The built-in X tools only read, so publishing to X is your step.

FAQ

Can it email the newsletter? It can draft one. Every send needs your approval, and newsletters go one recipient per message with an unsubscribe link.
