Keep a Logged-In Website Session Alive for Daily Routines
Grok Bot's computer keeps browser logins between runs, but sites still expire sessions. Sign in yourself, and have each run detect a logout and report it.

Answer first: Grok Bot has its own persistent computer, and browser logins made there stay in place between turns and routine runs. Sign in to the site once yourself on the Bot's desktop, and have every routine run start with a login check. If the site has logged it out, it should stop and tell you rather than try to sign in on its own. Sites still expire sessions on their own schedule, and nothing on the Bot's side can override that.
Test status: that the Bot's box keeps files and browser logins between runs is documented Grok Bot behavior. I did not test a real site's session lasting across several days, and expiry times differ from site to site. Community fixes such as password-manager connectors or keep-alive tricks were not verified and aren't recommended here.
Who it's for
People whose daily routine needs a members-only page: a supplier portal, a dashboard, a utility account.
Steps
- Open the Bot's desktop and sign in to the site yourself. Tick "remember me" if the site offers it.
- Set the routine to check whether it's still logged in before doing any work.
- When the session has expired, the routine reports it. You sign in again, which takes about 30 seconds.
- If the site offers an official API or export, prefer that over the browser. It's sturdier.
Copy-paste prompt
Every weekday at 7:00 AM, open <SITE URL> in your browser.
First check if you're still logged in (look for <ELEMENT, e.g. my account name>).
If logged out: stop and tell me "Session expired on <SITE>, please sign in on your desktop". Don't try to log in yourself.
If logged in: <TASK, e.g. download yesterday's report and summarize totals>.
Expected result
Daily results while the session holds, and a clear one-line alert when it doesn't.
Gotchas
- The site decides session length. Some expire after hours, some after weeks, and some immediately on a new IP address.
- Two-factor prompts and CAPTCHAs need you.
- Don't paste passwords into chat or into routine instructions.
- Check the site's terms. Some ban automated access even when you're logged in.
FAQ
Will it store my password? Don't give it one in chat. Sign in yourself on the Bot's browser; the site's own session cookie is what persists.
Does it work when my laptop is closed? Routines run in the cloud, and the Bot uses its own computer, not yours.
